An API platform partners could integrate without me

A custom gateway and a documented open API, so integration stopped being a support queue.

The problem

A move to microservices meant every team re-solving the same cross-cutting concerns, while partner integrations arrived as support tickets rather than self-service.

What I did

  1. Designed and built a custom API gateway so cross-cutting concerns lived in one place and new services shipped faster.
  2. Led a team of three to deliver the Tetama Open API platform as a product partners could adopt on their own.
  3. Initiated and maintained the API documentation as a first-class deliverable, not an afterthought.

The Open API platform drove a 40% increase in order volume from API within its first six months, while documentation onboarded eight new partners and cut integration support tickets by 30%.
